Elisa Marengo was born in Savigliano (Cuneo) in 1984.
She received her "Laurea" degree "summa cum laude e menzione di merito" (with highest honours) in Computer Science in October 2008 at the Università degli Studi di Torino. At the same University she obtained her Ph.D. in Computer Science in October 2012.

From August 2013 she is RTD at the department of Computer Science of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, working in the KRDB group.

From May 2013 through August 2013 she was postdoctoral fellow at DEIS, University of Bologna.

From January 2012 through December 2012 she was postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Computer Science, Università degli Studi di Torino, where she was member of the research areas of Agent Oriented and Service Oriented Computing and Knowledge Representation and Reasoning.

Her interests are related to data quality and business processes, e-learning and personalization by reasoning in the semantic web, representation and reasoning about interaction protocols for agents and web services. Her main contribution about e-learning and personalization by reasoning in the semantic web has been the representation of curricula of study and the definition and verification of constraints on the acquisition of competences supplied by different courses. Concerning interaction protocols her main contribution consists in 2CL protocols specification: a new representation that extends commitment protocols so as to account for patterns of interaction. Accordingly, a new semantics and a new methodology are proposed.

   My publications (by year [2006-2013])

My Ph.D. thesis: "2CL Protocols: Interaction Patterns Specification in Commitment Protocols" (pdf) (slides)

My degree thesis: "Curricula di Studi: Modelli e Verifica di Competenze" (only in Italian, download pdf, pdf.gz). The thesis received the "Dignità di stampa" from the Corso di Studi in Informatica dell'Università degli studi di Torino, the award "AICA - Confindustria Servizi Innovativi e Tecnologici" for the best thesis 2009 in the ICT and the award "Medaglia d'argento" from the Università degli studi di Torino for the best thesis 2007/2008 in Computer Science
