During the last part of 2001, prof. Bergadano and prof. Martelli in collaboration with prof. Donna (chairman of SAA - Scuola di Amministrazione Aziendale) and some other colleagues of the Department, organized the second Master in Web Technology and Security.

The master was attended by about 30 people (already possessing a "laurea" in some discipline), carefully selected among all the applicants.

The need for a master on this issues was motivated by the progressive development of the technologies (and particularly of Internet) that contributed so much to modify market strategies and internal organisation of firms producing goods and commodities.

In these last years, firms adopting e-business solutions have had a strong development pace. Nonetheless the problems related to security have represented an hindrance to the competitiveness of this firms.

The difficulty to find people with professional skills in security in Internet is a menace for commercial and industrial firms, that can see their development plans slowed down. The Master in Web Technology and Security has contributed to provide a concrete answer to all these needs.

The initiative has been successful again and the Master will be repeated in 2002.
