- Research activity in 2003
The
research activity has involved image processing techniques, by taking
into account three main subjects: pattern recognition, compression and
synthesis of images.The main items of the research have been: a. improvement
and study of new pattern recognition algorithms applied to biomedical,
cultural heritage and pictorial images;b. compression and reconstruction
of static images and movies, both monochromatic and coloured, by using
Loeve Karhunen expansion based on a universal set of eigenvalue functions;
c. real time integration of virtual and real distributed environment.
