- Research Activities

The research activity has been developed taking into account both image processing and virtual reality techniques. In the first topic, the main subjects considered have been: pattern recognition and synthesis of images. Concerning pattern recognition, the group has study new algorithms in order to catch latent information and to recognize shapes in biomedical, cultural heritage and pictorial images. About synthesis of images, some experiences has been developed in synthetizing suitable environments with the aim of improving the cultural knowledge of children in developing and for disabled people.
In the virtual reality area, the main aim has consisted in creating a flexible instrument that allows neuropsycologists to create and modify, with different level of details, from geometrical, immersion and renderization point of view, the spatial characteristics of the artificial enviroment and to trace the behaviours of the navigator in the virtual world.
