    Muhammad Shahid Farid obtained the B.S., M.Sc., and M.Phil. degrees with distinction in Computer Science from the University of the Punjab, Lahore in 2004, 2006, and 2009, respectively. He worked as Software Engineer for short time before joining Punjab University College of Information Technology, Lahore as a Lecturer of Computer Science in 2008. He was a visiting researcher for a short term in 2017at the Computer Science and Engineering Department, Qatar University, Doha, Qatar.


    Dr. Farid obtained his Ph.D. degree from Dipartimento di Informatica, Università degli Studi di Torino, Torino, Italy in 2015. He was with the Signal and Image Processing Research Group under the supervision of Prof. Marco Grangetto. In his Ph.D., he worked on 3D television technology particularly on efficient representation & coding of multiview videos, novel view synthesis techniques, and quality assessment of 3D videos. His research interests also include image segmentation, image fusion, gait recognition, image composition, and image retrieval. Currently, Dr. Farid is an Assistant Professor with the Punjab University College of Information Technology, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan.
