GREATSPN2.0.X with Meddly COMPILING INSTRUCTIONS ______________________ System requirements In order to compile the package you need: - Motif libraries and headers files installed: you need both the run-time and development packages, if you are running Linux you could find both packages at the openMotif distribution site www.openmotif.org; - uil compiler: it comes with Motif's development package; - the X development package; - the GNU make utility; - lex/flex & yacc (bison does not work). - tcsh - Meedly library To compile and install the package go through the following steps: - get the zipped archive greatspn-2.0.XXX-src.tar.gz - create a new directory where you want the tool will reside, for example /usr/local/GreatSPN/ - extract the archive into the installation directory gunzip greatspn-2.0.2-src.tar.gz cd /usr/local/GreatSPN/ tar -xvf greatspn-2.0.2-src.tar - move to the directory where source code reside cd /usr/local/GreatSPN/SOURCES/ - two makefile are provided, one for SunOS platforms and the other for Linux platforms; edit the appropriate makefile; - only the first lines of the makefile have to be changed, they are enclosed between two #-filled lines; placed as commented lines you will find some examples of common settings; check your system and make the right modifications; - return to the shell prompt and type make -f Makefile. example for Linux platform make -f Makefile.Linux_OpenMotif replace according to the installation type you desire if you want to install the overall package omit otherwise type any combination of "greatspn", "swn", "algebra" and "multisolve"; - if everything goes right you will find in the installation directory two new subfolders /usr/local/GreatSPN/bin, /usr/local/GreatSPN/ setting the environment _______________________ In order to run the tool you have to set some environment variables: PATH: add the /usr/local/GreatSPN/bin directory to your PATH environment variable; LD_LIBRARY_PATH: be sure that this variable contains the paths to the motif and X11 libraries if it is not correctly set you will get an ld error at startup time;
