| Don't be surprised if you wake
up at five in the morning thinking that somebody turned all the lights
on. This place at the very north east point of Brasil, really deserves
its name "A cidade do sol" (a city of sun). |
|
| It is also famous for its sand dunes
and marvelous beaches. The most famous one is Genipabu where, when
stopping on a buggy ride, you get a mouthfull pineapple with your
choice of alcohol and native choice of other ingredients. |
Genipabu |
Praia do Pipa |
Another magical place is Praia do Pipa,
where if lucky, you can see the dolphins swimming very close to you.
But also get stuck on the beach when the tide is hide and surrounding
vertical mountins give no chance of another way out. Also don't miss
Pirangi, with its the-biggest-in-the-world cashew nut tree (it is
really huge). |
| A very nice place to stay is
the hostel Lua Cheia, "O
Albergue da Bruxinha", with fascinating old ghost castle atmosphere
and a very
good breakfast. Other sites to find out more are http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/3114/natal.html
