The TV'02 workshop

The first edition of the Personalization in Future TV workshop (TV'01) was organized in Sonthofen, Germany, in 2001, as a forum in which researchers from diverse areas such as machine learning, knowledge engineering, cognitive sciences, adaptive user interfaces, and business intelligence could share their experiences in the design, development and exploitation of user interfaces for future TV services.
After the success of the TV'01 workshop, which attracted the attention of academic and industrial researchers and provided an excellent overview of the current international work in the area of digital TV, we propose the second edition of such event, to be held in Malaga within the 2nd International Conference on Adaptive Hypermedia and Adaptive Web Based Systems.

Suggested Topics

Topics to be addressed include, but are not limited to:
  • Position papers: new interactive services, social and business implications
  • Applications: TV portal architectures, personal TV recommender systems
  • Content access: architectures and algorithms for recommender systems, browsing and searching in locally stored content
  • Adaptive presentation: adaptive hypermedia techniques for EPGs, EPGs for all: adaptivity to users with special needs, adaptive provision of news, content and media fusion
  • Interaction: new browsing paradigms, conversational interfaces
  • Management of the user model: bootstrapping, acquisition and management of individual user profiles
  • Security and privacy aspects in TV services
  • Context-awareness: single user vs. multiple users, context detection and integration (mood, time, location, ...)
  • Community formation and social influences, peer-to-peer interaction
  • Personalized streaming media: infrastructures for interactive media, platforms and infrastructures for personalized services, ubiquitous computing environments
  • System demonstrations
