Marco Grangetto is a senior IEEE member and member of ELLIS (European Lab for Learning & Intelligent Systems). At the Computer Science Dept. at the University of Turin, he leads the EIDOSLAB , carrying research activities in the areas of Image Processing, Computer Vision, and Virtual Reality.
Marco Grangetto received the summa cum laude degree in Electrical Engineering in 1999, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2003, both from Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy. Since October 2007 he joined the Computer Science Department at the University of Torino where is now Full Professor. Previously, he was a Post-Doctoral researcher at the Image Processing Lab, at Politecnico di Torino. He was awarded the premio Optime by Unione Industriale di Torino in Sept. 2000, and a Fulbright grant in 2001 for a research period at the Center for Wireless Communications (CWC) at University of California, San Diego.
His research interests are in the area of signal processing, image processing and computer vision. He coordinates the EIDOSLAB research group, part of CVPL, the Italian Association for Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning . He is member of ELLIS, the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems. He served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Multimedia , and IEEE Transactions on Communications .
