The objective of the intermediate module is to help students speak more fluently at the European B1 threshold level.
Practical language used for travel and basic business exchanges is presented and more importantly practiced in simple, clear correct forms. Active class participation and pairwork is expected.

Students are expected to speak for 12 minutes on a topic regarding Information-Communication Technologies. In order to structure their talk, students are recommended to bring one of the following:
Fluency, grammar accuracy, ability to compensate for language difficulties and repair strategies will be assessed at B1 level.
The exam commission is formed by a computer science expert and a language expert.
In the Library of the Computer Science Department several copies are available of the following books:
These books contain tapescripts and grammar tables relevant to the A1 to B1 levels.
Furthermore many high-level universities offer publicly available courseware, such as the MIT Open Courseware. For example, introductory clips, or listening to lessons from a course on Introduction to Algorithms, are ways to learn relevant material in English and could also be used as topics for exam discussion.
