I got my PhD in Computer Science in 2008 at University of Turin, with a thesis on automatic reasoning techniques applied to autonomous entities interoperability.

In the following years I worked as short term researcher at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Turin, working mostly on Data Mining, Knowledge Representation and analysis of multidimensional data.

After a period of research at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission and at RAI research centre of Turin, actually, I'm an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Turim, where I'm a member of the Social Computing research group.

My current research interests include: social computing, distributed ledger technologies, data mining, multidimensional data analysis, knowledge representation and integration, social and information networks, collaboration networks and bibliometrics, text mining.

I am creator a new workshop series Sideways, International Workshop on Social Media World Sensors, and its organizer in 2015, 2016, 2017, and member of its steering committee.

I participated to the program committees of relevant conferences such as CIKM, and I am reviewer for many conferences and journals.

I have a long experience with EU, national, and regional research projects, where I am scientific responsible for EU Co-city UIA project and responsible for the "geographical data management" for H2020 WeGovNow project. I actively participated to the projects MeSoOnTV, Cooperare, SEeS@W, Librare, DynamicTV, Massive.

The results of my research are transferred to the commercial level via the Sity innovative startup I am co-founder of.
